A Swedish traditional Christmas drink.
In a glass jar, put:
1 cup of Vodka (any kind will do)
5 peeled cardamomm nuts, grinded. (! tsp)
5 whole cloves
1 piece cinnamon
1 peel of pommerance ( peel of 1/2 clementine will do)
1 small piece of ginger (fresh, and about 1/3 inch)
Let this ferment, under closed lid, for 24 - 48 hours.
Take out the spices, preferably through a coffee filter, and put in a pot.
Add:
1 - 1 1/4 cup of sugar
1 bottle of red wine (at this point, any kind will do)...
Stir until WARM, not boiling. (If you boil, you will kill the alcohol).
Stir in:
1/2 cup of raisins
1 cup of blanched almonds
Remember: This is to be served warm, so precautions are to be taken. Do not serve to children, unless you allowed it to
boil.
