This is from a Silver Needle Kit called A Spot of Irish Tea back in 2003. Each kit contains all the stuff you need
to stitch the pattern they supply and a recipe so you can bake goodies and eat and stitch for an evening.
The recipe caught my attention because it is very similar to a long lost Creme De Menthe brownie recipe I had as a teenager
which had a rich deep chocolate brownie.
Brownies:
16 ounces Hershey's Syrup 1 cup sugar 4 Eggs, beaten 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup flour 1 stick butter {NO SUBS} 1/2
tsp salt
Blend all together and mix well. Pour into 13X9X2 greased pan. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes
Glaze and Frosting:
Glaze:
3 Tbsp Creme De Menthe 1 stick butter, {NO SUBS} 2 cups powdered sugar Mix well and spread over the brownies
Frosting:
6
ounces semi sweet chocolate chips 6 TBSP butter [NO SUBS]
Melt together in a double boiler, spread over the glaze
you spread over the brownies.
When you cut these, dip a knife in hot water which will cut thru the Frosting [Which I think should be called the Glaze
but hey...] which is brittle chocolate. This will not break it so they look nicer.
