Jessie's Key Lime Pie

Not a fast and easy recipe from Christmas Cooking from the Heart.

1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp water
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 to 3 tbsp bourbon
3 tbsp butter, softened
1 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 to 3 tsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 oz semi sweet chocolate, melted
 
Grease a 8X8X2 inch pan and set aside. 
 
In med pan combine butter, granulated sugar, and water.  Cook and stir over med heat until just boiling.  Remove from heat.  Add chocolate pieces and stir until chocolate is melted.  Stir in eggs and vanilla.  Beat lightly with spoon just until combined.  Stir in flour, baking soda and salt.  Stir in pecans.  Spread batter into pans.
 
Bake at 350F for 20 ,mins or until edges are set and begin to pull away from sides of pan.
 
Use a fork, prick the warm brownies several times.  Drizzle the bourbon evenly over the brownies and cool on a wire rack.
 
For frosting:  In small bowl beat 3 tbsp butter with electric mixer on med to high for 30 seconds.  Grandually add powdered sugar, beating well.  slowly beat in 2 tsp milk and vanilla.  If needed beat remaining milk in to reach spreading consistency.  Spread over brownies.  Drizzled melted chocolate on top of frosting.
 
Makes 16 to20
